IPC FAQs

Here are some common questions that arise during the PSYPACT application process. Contact us if you don’t find the answers you’re looking for below

An Interjurisdictional Practice Certificate (IPC) is $200.00. You will be charged a total of $240.00 which includes the Temporary Authority to Practice (TAP) applicant processing fee.   

To apply, you will need to either create an account in PSY|PRO, ASPPB’s credentials management system- www.psypro.org), or log into an existing account. Once logged in, look to your right panel. There will be a section called Select an Activity. IPC/TAP.  This will allow you to initiate an application and pay. Your application checklist will appear on your Home page in your Activity Summary section. Select “edit” to access the checklist and complete the required sections.

NOTE: You will see your Credentials Bank in the lower half of your page when you log in. THIS IS NOT THE IPC APPLICATION. Information entered in your Credential Bank will be shown in your IPC application but there are many sections of the Credentials Bank which are not relevant to the IPC.

Your application can be accessed by clicking “edit” next to your IPC in your Activity Summary when you log in. You will be brought to your application checklist. Select “edit” next to each section and either input the required information or review information that would have populated from your Credentials Bank. Save the sections as complete. Once all sections of the checklist have been saved as complete and your official transcripts have been attached, you will be able to select “edit” next to Submit for Review. Doing this will allow you to submit your application into the review queue.

Official transcripts (graduate) must have been received by ASPPB and attached to your application before you will be able to submit for review.

NOTE: If you have not requested an official transcript yet, they are required and can be sent electronically to transcripts@asppb.org or by US Mail to P.O. Box 849 Tyrone, GA. 30290.

No. The Credentials Bank is visible when you log into PSY|PRO but it is not your application. Information you have added to your Credentials Bank will populate in your E.Passport application. Your application can be accessed by clicking “edit” next to your E.Passport in your Activity Summary when you log in.

Yes. Eligibility requirements state that the degree program must have been at the time the degree was awarded or within 18 months of the time the degree was conferred accredited by the American Psychological Association, the Canadian Psychological Association, or designated as a psychology program by the Joint Designation Committee of the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists

NOTE: Applicants who have been licensed prior to January 1, 1985, and have continuously held a license (active or inactive) to practice psychology at the independent level in one or more ASPPB member jurisdictions, based on a doctoral degree in psychology from a regionally accredited institution, are deemed to have met the educational requirements for the Interjurisdictional Practice Certificate (IPC).

Psychologists who have been continuously licensed (active or inactive) for 15 years to practice psychology at the independent level in one or more ASPPB member jurisdictions based on a doctoral degree in psychology conferred prior to 1/1/2000 from a regionally accredited institution may use the Certificate of Professional Qualification (CPQ) to meet the educational requirements of the Interjurisdictional Practice Certificate (IPC).

An applicant who provides verification of a cohesive program of re-specialization from a training program that at the time the re-specialization was completed had a degree program that was accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) and took courses within that program and that included a minimum of 1,500 hours in a supervised internship is deemed to have met the educational requirements for the Interjurisdictional Practice Certificate (IPC). 

Please complete the information to the best of your ability and ASPPB Credentialing staff will contact you if additional information is needed to locate your score in the repository. An official EPPP Score Transfer is not needed. Please note that Candidate ID is not a required field.

IPC Renewals

An IPC renewal is $50.00.

NOTE: You will be charged a total of $70.00 to include the TAP Renewal processing fee.

Yes, the PSYPRO system sends out automatic reminders 90, 60, and 30 days prior to your expiration date.

NOTE: If you have already received confirmation of submission for review, you can disregard the automatic reminders.

To apply, you will need to log into an existing account in PSY|PRO, ASPPB’s credentials management system- www.psypro.org). Once logged in, look to your right panel. There will be a section called Select an Activity. You will want to select Renewal- IPC/TAP. This will allow you to initiate an application and pay. Your application checklist will appear on your Home page in your Activity Summary section. Select “edit” to access the checklist and complete the required sections.

Your renewal application can be accessed by clicking “edit” next to your Mobility Program Renewal (IPC) in your Activity Summary when you log in. You will be brought to your application checklist. Select “edit” next to each section and either input the required information or review information that would have populated from your Credentials Bank. Save the sections as complete. Once all sections of the checklist have been saved as complete and your official transcripts have been attached, you will be able to select “edit” next to Submit for Review. Doing this will allow you to submit your application into the review queue.

The IPC renewal review process takes approximately 3-4 weeks. Once the IPC renewal review process has been completed, you will receive an email reminder to go into your credentials bank and complete the TAP renewal application. (You have already paid for this applicant and PSYPRO automatically opens the application for you. You only need to complete the application).
