Qualification requirements, application, and fees
To qualify for the PEP exam, you must
- possess a current, active license or registration to practice psychology independently within an ASPPB jurisdiction that requires a doctoral degree in psychology for licensure
- attest in writing that your psychologist licensure is in good standing with no pending disciplinary actions
- have at least two years of independent practice as a health-service provider in psychology within an ASPPB jurisdiction
- provide an attestation from another doctoral-level, licensed psychologist whose license was current and active during the period for which they are attesting
- your attester may not be under your direct or indirect authority
- your attester may not be your relative or significant other
- submit official transcripts for successful completion of all coursework from a post-doctoral psychopharmacology training program that is regionally accredited in the U.S. or provincially/territorially chartered in Canada
- your psychopharmacology program must be APA designated or demonstrate coursework that meets the APA criteria for designation
Apply and register for the PEP
You must use your PSY|PRO® account to apply and register to take the PEP exam. If you are new to PSY|PRO®, get started by selecting “Register as a new user” on the PSY|PRO® welcome page.
After you indicate on PSY|PRO® your desire to take the PEP exam, we will email the full list of requirements for taking the exam along with instructions on how to submit all required documentation. When we confirm that you meet the requirements, you will receive a welcome email from the ASPPB registration system Kryterion that includes your new account information and instructions for scheduling your PEP exam.
