Retake process

If your PEP exam score does not meet the requirement of the licensing authority where you are seeking a prescriptive license, you may retake the exam up to two more times within a 12-month period. You must wait at least 60 days before your second attempt. If you need to take the PEP exam a third time, you must wait at least 90 days after your second attempt. Visit our PEP exam registration portal (hosted by Kryterion Webassessor) to purchase and schedule your retake exam.

You cannot sit for the PEP more than 3 times in a rolling 12-month period

  • Unsuccessful 1st attempt: Must wait 60 days before sitting for the 2nd attempt
  • Unsuccessful 2nd attempt: Must wait 90 days before sitting for the 3rd attempt
  • Unsuccessful 3rd attempt: Must wait 365 days from the 1st attempt to sit for a 4th attempt.
