ASPPB’s Mobility Operations: Ensuring seamless practice across jurisdictions

At the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB), “mobility operations” refers to the complex systems and protocols that manage the movement of psychologists across different states and provinces. This crucial function, led by Amanda and her dedicated team of professionals, facilitates smooth transitions for licensed psychologists while ensuring compliance with stringent standards and regulations. Amanda offers a glimpse into the dynamic “A” team that drives these vital operations, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to high standards of practice and public protection.

Sarah: You’ve been with ASPPB for three years, initially as Director of Applications Services. Now, as the director overseeing both applications and mobility services, what has been your main contribution?

Amanda: I am incredibly proud of the work our team accomplishes daily. They truly embody an “A” team. I deeply value their “can-do” attitude and dedication to providing exceptional customer service. The team’s commitment to continuous improvement stands out— they are always eager to learn, respond to feedback, and refine our practices. This collaborative environment not only enhances our services but also makes leading this team a rewarding experience.

𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐡: How is your team structured?

𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚: Nicole leads Mobility Services, while Kaitlyn heads Application Services. They will provide more details about their roles as part of this ongoing conversation.

𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐡: Your background is in social work. How does that experience enhance your current role at ASPPB?

𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚: My social work background has a lot in common with my role at ASPPB. We constantly strive to support member jurisdictions in delivering quality care, aligning with ASPPB’s values and mission. I continue to be hands-on in my approach, much like I was in social work. What I particularly appreciate about my current role is the opportunity to streamline application processes and make them more user-friendly, which allows me to leverage my skills in a different but equally impactful way.

𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐡: What makes your team an “A” team?

𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚: Each team member brings a unique perspective, contributing to our efficient and collaborative structure. Our shared understanding that success in Mobility Operations depends on creating seamless experiences for psychologists across jurisdictions drives us forward. We’re committed to not just meeting today’s standards but to achieving even greater accomplishments in the future.
