Michelle G. Paul, PhD: A Record of Service, Leadership, and Impact

Michelle G. Paul, PhD

Dr. Paul’s contributions to ASPPB reflect a steady progression of involvement, leadership, and impact. She became involved in ASPPB’s competency-based work early on, serving on the Practice Analysis Task Force in 2009. She subsequently volunteered as an Item Writer for the EPPP and then with the Mobility Committee, before serving six years on ASPPB’s Board of Directors, including as President in 2024.

During her first three years on the Board, Dr. Paul served in the Education and Training track and was a liaison to nine training councils, helping facilitate communication and collaboration across psychology education and regulatory communities. “Dr. Paul served as a leader with quiet but clear strength,” said Dr. Laforce. “Her ability to constructively address complex problems has strengthened the many levels of our regulatory community.”

Dr. Paul’s record of regulatory leadership began before her involvement with ASPPB, as she served eight years on the Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners, including three years as President. During her tenure, she founded and chaired the Application Tracking, Equivalency, and Mobility Committee, strengthened licensing and practice guidelines, advanced Medicaid reimbursement for supervised services, supported Nevada’s entry into PSYPACT, and contributed to the state’s Sunset Review process.

These accomplishments reflect the breadth of Dr. Paul’s commitment to psychology regulation and demonstrate the leadership and expertise she has brought to ASPPB.
