A Spotlight on ASPPB’s Mobility Services

Mobility services

In the field of psychology, facilitating seamless career transitions is important. That’s where the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) Mobility Program steps in. Established in 1998, this program is central to ASPPB’s mission of supporting member jurisdictions in public protection and its vision of ensuring consistent standards for competent psychological practice.

Nicole, ASPPB’s Director of Mobility Services highlights the importance of the department, “Mobility Services promotes responsible mobility by supporting psychologists moving between jurisdictions and ensuring they meet all necessary standards and requirements.” The department also stands for program implementation and review as it continues to develop and assess ASPPB Mobility programs, keeping them effective and relevant.

“Handling applications for mobility programs, so that all submissions are processed efficiently is part of our day-to-day functions,” said Nicole. “We also offer jurisdictional support by keeping jurisdictions informed about mobility-related developments and providing proactive solutions to emerging issues.”

Core Offerings of the Department

The ASPPB Mobility Program stands out due to its dual role as both a credentials record and a progressive application service. Key offerings include:

  • PSY|PRO® System: This online platform is pivotal for managing professional credentials. It allows users to bank their credentials, request Examination of Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP)® Score Transfers, handle Credentials Bank Materials Transfers (CBMT)®, and access records from closed institutions or programs through the Closed Record Verification Service (CRVS)®. PSY|PRO® also facilitates applications for various ASPPB Mobility programs.
  • EPPP® Score Transfer Service: Among the most requested services, the EPPP® Score Transfer Service maintains a permanent record of EPPP® scores and can report them to licensing boards in other states or provinces, streamlining the licensure process across jurisdictions.
    Who Benefits from Mobility Services?

The primary beneficiaries of ASPPB’s Mobility Services are licensed psychologists seeking to expand their practice into new jurisdictions or needing to manage their credentials and scores. This includes individuals needing records from closed institutions or programs, ensuring that their professional history remains intact and accessible.
