Data-driven decision making is key to protecting and promoting best practices in licensure in the U.S. and Canada. In 2021, the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB)® launched the Centre for Data and Analysis on Psychology Licensure to assist our member psychology boards and the larger profession in making research-based decisions.
The Centre serves the needs of our professional and regulatory communities by:
- Collecting and analyzing data for the regulation of the profession of psychology,
- Delivering timely and relevant data to psychology licensing boards,
- Creating publications and presentations focused on licensure portability and telehealth.
Key topic areas on the Centre website include:
- Licensure Requirements—We collect and make available through PSY|Book data from our member licensing boards about their specific licensure requirements;
- Historical Disciplinary Data—Our annual ASPPB Disciplinary Data System (DDS) Historical Discipline Report comprises the disciplinary actions initiated by our 66 psychology licensing boards in the U.S. and Canada;
- Guidelines and Publications—We periodically create guidelines and other publications related to the practice, teaching, and regulation of psychology.
